"Misleading Initial Contact and Sales Pressure The appointment was arranged under the guise of a free, subsidized internship project. We were clearly told that there would be no costs involved. Just one day after the first appointment, we were contacted by a second employee of the same company with the exact same "internship" story. When we pointed out that a colleague had already been to our office the previous day, we were simply told that they had "dialed the wrong number." This approach seemed anything but transparent. At the second appointment, it became clear that the real aim was to sell us a paid contract, which we considered significantly overpriced, with a very vague and non-committal description of services. The discrepancy between the initial contact and the actual sales objective was considerable. When we explained that we wanted to discuss the contract internally first, we were told that they were currently receiving a very high volume of inquiries and that if we didn't sign immediately, there might not be a spot available for us. The consultant then left the room to consult with her supervisor by phone. We perceived this approach as a clear case of undue pressure to make a decision and, overall, as highly unprofessional. We recommend that other companies carefully review such offers."
