"We absolutely must share our experience with bits+bytes with interested readers to help them make informed decisions: December 2018 – After experiencing weaker battery performance, we sent two laptops in for repair. One was quickly completed, but the second, an ASUS, wasn't ready for weeks. We picked it up and paid for it. At the beginning of July, we complained about the built-in battery; the device wasn't recognizing it. We finally picked up the device at the end of July 2019. The battery had been replaced. At the beginning of August, we encountered further problems. We followed the technician's advice and had the device upgraded – new SSD, case, new Smart Security, etc. When we inquired, we were strongly advised to do so – the device was still in perfect working order! We paid the invoice. Mid-August 2019 – another problem arose – the device kept shutting down! A call from the service technician revealed that the motherboard was now defective – repair was no longer worthwhile. They offered us a new device at a special dealer price – a cynic might suspect something fishy! We'll pick up the device! The device is now scrap! Total expenses - €443.00 Total trips to the service center - approximately 160 km plus time. Never again!"
