"Google reviews and case studies on the website convinced me to hire Emerald Media and… It was the worst money I ever spent. I mentally endured a week. And it's not that I expected spectacular results after a few days. It was the client approach itself and the complete lack of competence. I had the impression that the woman who ran my campaigns had just completed a half-hour course on meta ads on YouTube, and that was her entire audience. The copy of the posts was below what ChatGPT can generate (and it's not the best at it). I uploaded a lot of graphic materials for use, and the woman still used (for the first few days) product covers from the store – a disaster. The agency was given guidelines on what had the best CTR/ROAS so far and didn't use them even once, let alone create new and better ones based on what they were given. The agency was burning through money on Audience Network. All sorts of enhancements were enabled, such as boosting the saturation of creatives (whereas in my industry, photo filters are crucial). "AI optimization" of the ad text was also enabled, which sometimes meant ads would display with just one short sentence, making it unclear what the ad was about. The ad formats weren't aligned with the placements, causing them to be misaligned and looking extremely unsightly. When I asked what these ads were supposed to do specifically, I received the answer "we're building a campaign engine." However, when I asked what that actually meant, I received no answer. It was nothing more than "let's just throw in whatever we want for now, anyhow, so it's clear that something is happening." We agreed to work together just moments before I wanted to launch the campaign, so the agency didn't have much time to prepare, but they did commit to launching on a given date. The agency was confusing products in the ad content, and the descriptions made no sense and were sometimes illogical. After the algorithm update, Meta opened the door for all kinds of agencies to burn through clients' money, claiming that "the algorithm is intelligent, AI-based, and will optimize everything for conversions." And of course, the agency took advantage of this at every turn. The understanding of the product offered was zero. The ads contained links to products that were no longer available and pulled products from a catalog from another store, which was completely unrelated to the store we were selling from. All my comments were dismissed as if it was all about who could shout loudest – "algorithm, algorithm, algorithm...", "we know each other," "you have to trust us," etc. Of course, there were also "with this budget, it's impossible. If you had a budget of 10x, we could talk about settings/results of X." What an incredible way to fool the client. After a week, we reached an agreement that I would take back control of the ads, and the agency would complete the pixel configuration for the foreign version of the website (it required more than basic knowledge, and I couldn't do it myself), and that was the end of our relationship. I contacted them a few days after the deadline. I received a message that everything was working and ready to run ads. It wasn't. The agency didn't even do a test order to check if everything was configured correctly. However, I received a message that "it should automatically collect all events." It should, but it didn't. Later, I received a link to read up on how to set it up (!!!). Of course, this setting was included in the quote for the entire service, but it wasn't implemented. At times (most of the time, actually) the agency's approach to the client was simply rude. Yes, I know... "not enough time" + "you have to wait longer for results." No need.
