"Seriously, if you don't want to live with MICE, don't rent any Amberson Garden apartment!!! Since my husband and I moved into this building, we sometimes heard a sound of friction between claws and pipelines or heating systems, but didn't see any mice. When my closest neighbors in moved out together with their big cat, I started to feel mice (it moves so fast that I can't make sure). We tried d-CON mice baits and mice ultrasonic repellent, thinking it's still acceptable if mice leave the unit. However, within a week, I saw the trace of mice. Following them, we find several little mouse under a corner of the carpet of a closet. Also, our luggage and all stuffs in it were ruined by mice droppings. I was scared and emailed Amberson management that we want to end out contract and move out ASAP. We also asked a reasonable compensation. The manager Lauren came the next day, didn't apologize anything, but only blame us why we didn't report it earlier. She checked our kitchen and found all our food were properly sealed and stored in cabinet or refrigerator. The whole apartment is clean. She refused any compensation but just promise that extermination provider will come immediately. We moved out 4 days later. Until then, no one came to deal with it. Before our leaving, we put a notice on door saying please let us know if anyone come into this apartment using any chemical or mice trap. When I went back again, there was a dead mice in the middle of the living room. However, no one notice me about that. I asked them to move the body out. After two days, no one came to remove it so I did it myself. By the way, Lauren, the manager, insisted that we were the first to claim there were mouse. She never heard that before. The truth is, several neighbors complained that before, and Amberson never exterminate all mice. She LIED! During the whole process, we didn't hear any apologize."
"This is a badly run condo, with HOA increasing the HOA fees every year. People with larger homes are finding it difficult to sell their condos. The board members and property managers are LAZY and unethical, even for a large project that costs millions, they get only one bid. The guideline for even small projects is to get a minimum of three bids. President of HOA Gil Citro is arrogant and thinks he is a dictator in a communist regime and creates new rules that are not in CC&R. He has no idea how to run an association or how to handle a property manager, as he has hired a second property manager to same work but did not request the first one to reduce his compensation. He continues to spend several thousands of homeowners' $ doing a reserve study and studying the feasibility of PV systems. A person with middle school level mathematics could do this and you don't need to do study after study wasting HOA reserve. The building has a limitation of 10 rentals but many in the building are renting without permission. It will be difficult to get a loan if you are purchasing a larger property as the building lack reserves. There is no accountability in this building especially when it comes to people $. Glad that I am done here and eventually moved out."
"Seriously, rent with Meyer's Management. I am a first time renter and have never expected this experience to go as well as it did. We first rented a studio but later upgraded to a remodeled one bedroom within 2 months. every experience we have had whether it was with the timing of maintenance or the incredible leasing consultant who set us up with this perfectly located 1 bedroom. Of course the units that aren't remodeled are a little dated but everything in the apartment works perfectly. These apartments are really for students or young couples looking for their first affordable home, utilities are included in the rent making it easier to finance for. The location is in a quiet calm area in the city and we rarely hear our neighbors. There is no way I could express how Meyer's Management has went above and beyond in order to provide me and my boyfriend this wonderful apartment."
