"I traveled with G Adventures in India, from Delhi to Goa in October 2025. Let me first describe the organisational part and then the tour itself: Online support 3/5 stars Prior to booking, I got in touch with staff via the chat function. The information received about the trip was high-level, but sufficient. I later sent an email for more specific questions about my trip which they answered. However, there was some issue with the online tool where you fill in your information before the trip. It was urgent and my email was never answered. In the end, I had to call last minute in order to receive the confirmation for the trip. Let’s say communication can be improved. Tour 5/5 stars I’m glad to say the tour itself was great! After reading a few bad reviews here, I was wary it might be canceled or changed in some way. Truth is, our guide Manvendra Singh Rathore did an incredible job showing us around and explaining so many things to us! Kudos 🎊🎊 It would have been impossible to see so many things in this short time by myself. Also, there are less touristy places we visited that I wouldn’t have come across otherwise! We were given free time and options for activities that were not included in the tour cost. Tips: I recommend asking about the group demographics prior to booking. Also, be aware that some tours may be combined in different parts, where the guide and some travellers may change. Of course, factor in extra money for food and optional activities."
"The best way to describe the G Adventures tour through Central America is “I had an amazing time DESPITE G Adventures”. The countries and cities were amazing but the tour was a let down, I got the 18-34 option, it did mention that the accomodations would be basic but I have done basic tours with other tour companies before and what G Adventures offered was A LOT less than basic. Overall I was disgusted to sleep most nights, I literally had to distract myself & numb my thoughts to be able to sleep, wifi was shit, towels were stained and showers were gross and were NEVER hot. Plus we had a bed bug situation & a flea situation at 2 seperate accomodations. We were crammed into rooms. My group looked up some of the accomodations and they were SOOOOO cheap, with the amount of money we were paying, G could have afforded to put us in better accomodations. I am not against hostels but what we had were dingy, disgusting accomodations for almost the whole tour and that is just unacceptable, they cheaped out on us. On top of that, pretty much nothing was included and all the optional tours are more expensive than if you were to organise yourself. But since the schedule is so tight, it’s more convenient for you to use their options, it’s surely their business model. And pre-booking meant they overcharged you too, guess they hope people don’t notice and don’t complain. The Guatemala to Costa Rica part of the tour the activities were insanely expensive and really high minimums so getting enough people to actually do the same activity you wanted to do was difficult, there were many times we couldn’t get the minimum so didn’t get to do anything in those countries & didn’t have enough time to organise alternatives, for people travelling so they can experience other cultures, learn the history or do cool things, this is very unfair. I even asked if we could join with public groups so there’s a better chance of meeting the minimums and they said no. For a company that promotes being ethical, it sure didn’t feel like they were ethical towards their customers! I will never do a G Adventures tour again and I wouldn’t recommend this tour for others either."
"29-day Southeast Asia Encompassed tour - ATIE The itinerary backbone is excellent, but there is clear room for improvement in execution and flexibility. That said, for a 29-day cultural tour, interpretive depth was lacking. Strengths The core design is outstanding: Overnight train in Thailand Mekong River cruise & homestay (Laos) Luang Prabang Hanoi Ha Long Bay Hue Siem Reap The route flows well and covers the key highlights of Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Leadership We had two CEOs: • Bangkok → Hanoi: 10/10 Friendly, helpful, great restaurant suggestions. • Hanoi → Siem Reap: 10/10 Clear, organized, strong group management. Hotels Accommodation is inconsistent and clearly cost-controlled: Luang Prabang: small room, far from center, cold breakfast, no fresh towels Chiang Khong: no hot water Vientiane: extremely poor breakfast (no eggs, bad coffee) Internet unreliable in several hotels Angkor Wat breakfast box poor Upgrade options should be transparent and available. Time Allocation Too short: Bangkok / Thailand overall Hanoi Too long / low value: Chiang Khong Vang Vieng Vientiane Replacing Vang Vieng/Vientiane with additional Hanoi or Luang Prabang time would improve the balance. Included Activities – Mixed Value Excellent: Mekong cruise, Ha Long Bay, Hue, Angkor Wat. Less compelling: Doi Suthep (better use of time in Chiang Mai center) Mekong Delta near Ho Chi Minh City (touristy and staged) Cu Chi Tunnels (long drive, overcrowded) Killing Fields after S21 (Royal Palace would provide better balance) Structural & Financial Issue The tour officially ends in Bangkok. However: G Adventures was informed in advance that I would end in Siem Reap. They still booked the Siem Reap → Bangkok flight. No reimbursement was offered for the unused flight or hotel night in Bangkok. Returning to Bangkok after Angkor Wat adds cost and no experiential value. The trip feels complete in Siem Reap. An optional Siem Reap endpoint with reimbursement would greatly improve the structure. Operational Notes Laos currency guidance insufficient (poor exchange rates in Thailand). Mid-day departures reduced sightseeing time. Chiang Mai program not fully followed. App lacks operational hotel detail. Final verdict: Excellent itinerary, strong CEOs, but hotels and structural flexibility need improvement. 4/5."
"Looks like many people have had a similar experience when it comes to booking early... wait if you can; Wait until a few weeks out to get the best deals, been reading that early bookers sometimes paid more than double that of the last minute bookers! Luckily, after we booked early there was a big sale a few days later so G adventures had no issue reimbursing me for the difference so that was super great! Just be aware of this and keep an eye out for price drops on your trip, cause it sounds like the company is totally willing to help out the early planners if they needed to give major discounts to last minute travelers or they issued a big sale just after your booking. Specifically for the 30 day Southeast Asia trip for 18-30somethings (combination of the shorter cambodia & vietnam & laos/northern thailand trips): This is a low budget trip that just shows you glimpses of many cities in these countries. In general we were never in a town long enough to do something adventurous; most of the trip we spent our time in transit, with free time in the city, or doing some of the offered (additional cost) watered-down activities. Nothing is included besides hostels/budget-hotels, trains/buses/1flight, and local guides who usually don't actually do anything- they just tag along on the trip (and you are required to pay an additional small fee to them). If joining this tour just remember, the G adventures trip in SE Asia is all about supporting as many local people as possible, not actually about your experience as the traveler. However, the trip small group was great and someone we met said he had been on a lot of the G Adventures trips and he had enjoyed so many of them, so maybe just consider one that isn't in SE Asia with the company... I will! But anyway, SE Asia is easy to navigate on your own, even last minute, (which is what I was concerned about and why I booked a tour) but many people speak english and there are crazy amounts of options for transportation, even in more remote areas, and opportunities to stay in beautiful accommodations you wouldn't normally be able to afford anywhere else. Honestly you can skip cambodia (visa is strict anyway) and just focus on a few cities in Thailand, mid/northern Vietnam, and Laos to really enjoy yourself and get a feel for the countries/culture. If you need a visa in any of those countries, just put the entry date as the general start of your trip to give yourself flexibility, I learned that the entry date doesn't have to be exact; you can get in after that date, you just can't get in before. -I wish I had known that beforehand!"
"I traveled with G Adventures to North Morocco in Nov 2025. It was a 5 -star experience. Our guide Hicham Atyq was such a high quality guide who made the trip very personal and memorable."
