"UPDATE: My package finally arrived at its destination, 10 days after they told me it would. I have evidence why, which represents either a profound level of incompetence or negligence on their behalf. I went in on a Friday with an urgent delivery, Saturday was $160, Monday was $60. I chose "Not $160", and it arrived 10 days later. The package was labeled "USPS: Surface Transportation Only". Upon investigation, this is because it was identified as having a phone, and with $1500 insurance. (Of course the UPS store knew this as this is what I told them and paid for). The store and their corporate office threw their hands up denying any accountability, blaming USPS. So either one of two things must be true: 1. Incompetence: They 100% knew the contents, the insurance (they sold it to me), the box dimensions, and which carrier they were using. Unless they were *completely ignorant* of how that service worked, they absolutely 100% knew that it was *impossible* for the package to arrive, and that *immediately* upon receipt by the post office, it would be flagged for ground-only delivery. 2. Negligence: They knew *exactly* what would happen, but because I indicated I would go elsewhere given the criticality of the product and their pricing, they deliberately sold me a highly profitable product knowing it would not deliver as promised and they could attempt to deflect blame. Do I have recourse? I don't know. I did initiate a chargeback with my credit card for failure to provide services, and even if I lose the chargeback, I know it still will cost the business ~$30 in chargeback fees. I strongly suggest you consider taking your important delivery business elsewhere."
