"Amazing price and location, especially since a free dinner, with unlimited coffee and tea is included. I was able to get lost in the old city and make my way back to the hostel without needing google maps with no problem so it was a great place to explore from. This hostel is not for the faint of heart though, it is more for seasoned budget traveler hostel as the cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, and social areas all need work. The beds felt very dirty as did the showers but they were acceptable to use, just barely. One of the staff members was very welcoming but the others were not helpful or straight up rude. The common area was a couple plastic chairs facing the bathroom so you can hear people going to the bathroom which isn't very charming. I can go on but in the end I'd say it's worth a stay as you can't beat the price and location."
"In the heart of the old town of Jerusalem. Best location. Owner is so kind to offer free of charge and delicious Palestinian dinner on the rooftop terrace. However cleanliness could better. Rooms and common areas are dirty and run down. But still a good value option on this price to stay in the middle of the old town."
"If I could give zero stars - I would have done that. True, the location is amazing and it’s a great value for money. However, please just add a few bucks and go somewhere else. This hostel is extremely shady and filthy. The air is awful and the beds are super unclean, no proper sheets either. The room’s wall and ceiling are falling apart. Bits of plaster fell onto my face as I was sleeping, I woke up with bits of plaster on my clothes. There is no positive atmosphere because everything is disorganised and there are sometimes loud arguing that you can hear. Very difficult to charge your phone as there is an issue with outlets, most of them don’t work."
"For £8 a night this hostel is great value, given its position within the old city and its basic, but tasty free dinner. However, if you can afford a few more quid you should go elsewhere. The hostel is disorganised, with loud owners who just evacuate you out of your room for an impromptu plastering and fumigating session. You'll regularly be woken up by the staff just walking into your room to have an argument with each other then walking out again. As for the rooms, the beds are suspiciously wrapped in cling film, but even this does not protect you from the bed bug bites. The floor is thick with plaster dust that has dropped off the overly plastered ceiling. On this note, you'll constantly have to brush plaster off of your bed, and be prepared to have large bits of plaster drop into your eyes whilst sleeping. The rooms are also quite filthy, a cigarette end on the window sill next to our bed warmly welcoming us to Hebron Hostel. The whole hostel also stinks of mould, noticeable from the moment you enter. The ceilings also have visible mould on them. Altogether, the hostel is undeniable good value for money, but you get what you pay for. Whilst some of the staff seem genuinely helpful, the majority seem to be careless and in some cases just rude. Only come here if you are on a serious budget."
"I liked three things about this place: it was very cheap, it's located right in the heart of the Old City, and they served free hummus and salad every evening. The facilities are lacking, and are only minimally cleaned. There was only one shower and toilet for six rooms to share, and the shower had no space to put your shoes and only a hook for your towel and clothing. The WiFi only works (& minimally as that) in the reception area. In our room there was only one electric socket, so we had to choose between being cooled of by the fan or recharging our phones. Wouldn't go back or recommend."
