"Beautiful castle from the exterior and the scenery by Lake Geneva is magnificent, but the interior is actually quite disappointing in comparison to other castles. It was originally built in the Middle Ages, but then bought by an industrialist in the late 19th century, so the interior represents this period. Interesting, definitely, but perhaps not as breathtaking as other castles."
"Tbh, I would have been happy just to take some pictures from the outside and not actually go inside. Sadly though, that's not an option. €12 euro each entry fee. My wife wanted to go inside and she rates the experience 4 star. It's not my cup of tea. If it's your, I'm sure you will enjoy it"
"One of the most intriguing castles I've ever visited. The service at the desk went perfectly due to nice people and we learned lots from the information on the boards. It was like a dream walking around in this medieval castle. Would recommend!"
"Strongly recommend. A very unusual combination of medieval style and the elements of the belle epoque. Check the website for the schedules of costume guided tours. The guides are amazing, we enjoyed the show and the humor. Plus, with the tour you will be able to see the parts of the castle not available for regular visitors. Unfortunately, the tour is in French only The tours include the degustation: the local wine tastes very good. If you take the tour, you might miss two short videos about the history of the castle and the restoration. It is definitely worth to come back after the tour and to watch both videos. The castle also has a lot of activities for children, and the information is presented in a fun and interesting way. There is a city parking across the street and the castle parking. Don't park on the street leading to the castle parking: there is a little entertainment train passing through the castle regularly, and it requires space."
"This is a worthwhile and interesting place to visit near Lake Geneva/Lac Leman. The original chateau was restored by an industrialist in the arts and crafts style. I enjoyed the links to William Morris and the wider European movement in reviving traditional craftsmanship. The ceilings and furniture were understated but stunning. The staff were welcoming, entry fee was very reasonable considering the amount of time I spent there and the history fascinating. The only thing I didn't like were the Halloween decorations which obscured the objects on view and didn't match the spirit of the place that had once been home to people of devout faith. This was especially the case in the Chapel in the chateau. Perhaps another year a fete connected to harvest, vines, plants and animals would better reflect the history of this amazing gem in the Chablais region and be more ujique:) With very best wishes."
