"I visited the market at around 8:30am on 26 February 2026. It is a bustling but clean market. There was a fish stall selling giant swordfish, which made me feel amazed. While I was not interested in buying any seafood, fruit, vegetables or meat as I could not cook them in my hostel, I bought some savoury pastries from the Rita bread stall for €6 and all of them tasted very nice, especially the meat triangular pie-like pastry. The bacalhau pancake was quite very tasty."
"I love a good open-air market, and while visiting Setúbal I stopped by to walk around theirs. It’s a large, lively market filled with local vegetables, organic products, butchers, fisheries, and a few restaurants tucked along the sides. It’s vibrant, full of color, and one of the best places to immerse yourself in fresh local produce and meet warm, friendly people. Definitely worth a visit — and you can’t miss the big pink building. Hard to miss!"
