"ODSP rates are based on an outdated reality. The amounts may have worked decades ago, but they are impossible to live on today. Rent, food, utilities, transportation, and other basic needs have skyrocketed, yet ODSP support has not kept pace. As a result, people are forced to choose between housing, medication, and feeding their children. ODSP also treats many people with disabilities as if they are able bodied. That is a slap in the face to those living with real physical and mental limitations. There is too little compassion or understanding for the daily realities of disability, poverty, and chronic illness. The people hurt most are disabled individuals and their children, who are pushed into instability while supports are clawed back instead of strengthened. A system meant to protect the most vulnerable has lost its sense of care and humanity."
"It’s not normal for myself to write a complaint as I work in customer service. However, it is extremely disrespectful to be working at a place that assists those with disabilities and project frustration and poor attitude to those applying for financial assistance. The receptionist today had made an extremely unnecessary comment towards my disabled relative upon arrival. If someone appears confused or misinformed, you meet them with grace and provide guidance. I’m sorry your life is so miserable that you had the audacity to make a snarky comment towards someone who is already going through a hard time."
"Complete lack of care for mental health or physical disability. Recieved a call and they left a voice mail. I tried to call back and ill get transfered to someone random but it waits 10 minutes and hangs itself up front their end. 2 more calls and its the same thing. Getting the run around for about 16 calls. It got to the point where I would call and just get hung up on after someone picking up the phone on the other end. This is the worst. Complete lack of care or professionalism. They are just there to collect a cheque and go home nothing else. Id love to be proved wrong."
"When I have a worker service is decent. Currently I have no worker and getting help is extremely difficult. This has been going on for several months now. I don’t know why I haven’t been assigned a new worker. I have a lot of questions and a lot of claims and a severely disabled child who is completely dependent on me."
