"After contemplating replacing our old log set to a new gas insert, we finally decided to have Acorn Heating in Delta, BC install one for us. The service was top notch and the Regency LRI4E fireplace is a great upgrade. Great to support a local Canadian company manufacturing a quality product."
"Never buy a Regency Wood Stove especially one with a catalytic converter! I will spread this message far and wide to include to Consumer Protection Agencies. I had to replace the wood stove only after 2 years and paying $10,000 for the original stove and installation. The catalytic converter was nothing but problems. It was not burning efficiently which caused excess creosote. I had to get the stove cleaned twice per year and called my servicing agency multiple times. The stove also caused a fire. My chimney service company filed claims against their warranty which Regency did not honor. They were trying to claim user error despite all of the service calls and complaints that I had over the two years. Save yourself thousands and buy a Drolet standard wood stove. Absolutely no problems with the Drolet heating or burning since installation. But yeah…Regency wants to claim user error. Regency, you want to make this right? You owe me for the cost of your product, servicing fees, and installation."
"Bought a Contura RC500 gas fireplace. The clanking and banging from metal expansion and contraction was so loud that they replaced the whole unit, twice. Now we're on the third unit with the same noise issues, but Regency says they've done all they can. Installers and Regency's technical manager can't solve the problem. Obviously it's a manufacturing defect. I have contacted Regency and the company that installed the fireplace multiple times. Despite Regency's auto-response to this review, they have done nothing to address the issue and don't respond to emails."
"Pretty Disappointing company and products. I have (I can only assume) a manufactured defective product HI500 - Large Fire Place Insert. This product would burn over 1000f for hours and never heat my home... My installer was baffled and never experienced it and assured me it must be a fluke.. So we replaced this first HI500 with a second HI500 (probably the same manufactured batch) and it did the exact same thing. I played cards with my family within 6 feet of the stove, which burned internal temps over 1000F for 3 hours, half of the time it was above 1200F.. My thermostat, in the same room 20' away went up 1 degree... Of course I'm highly dissatisfied. I sent a video proving the issues/situation to my installer who sent it to his contact at Regency, and they tried to blame it on my insulation.. Which is a slap in the face since nobody from Regency has ever attempted to contact me or view the product installed/burning. I have been in my attic and have seen the insulation is there. I have temp gunned the entire room over the 3 hour period and have no spots of pooling hot air (meaning there literally is no hot air output) nor is there anywhere that is severely colder (windows included) for air to be leaking in/out.. Now I'm having to have a third stove installed which will 1000% not be a Regency product. They've taken 0 responsibility, nor have they tried to find out if there was a manufacturing issue. The product itself has great reviews online/reddit and many people love this product, but NO Stove should allow you to be as close as I was for as long as I was without getting burnt out. Good luck if you attempt to install this product, if it doesn't go well you'll be left high and dry unless your installer is a good guy who wants to ensure they have a satisfied customer, I feel bad for him considering Regency hasn't even tried to make it right for him.. I guess I'm going to attempt to get Bucked and see if it works better."
"Our new Regency (U39E) fireplace puts our much more heat than our 28 year old Avalon. The ignition system looks much more dependable. Seems better engineered all the way around. The orifice conversion was easy. The shipment was very complete. The neo-angle glass broadcasts heat better than a simple flat glass. The remote thermostat control makes it easier to put the heat where we want it. However... The instruction manual was difficult to follow; not written for laypeople, the receiver battery pack is very awkward and cumbersome to access, the log set holes did not match the studs in the firebox and the transmitter/remote did not function as described in the manual. Nevertheless, a retired plumber like me, or anyone with some mechanical aptitude can make it work. Once up and running, it's a fine heater. I would still recommend the fireplace. Baron Heating did a fine job and their sales person Heather was just great. First rate."
