"I am a return tenant who had been living here 2021-2023 and moved back in Jan 2025. I would give 5 stars 100% any time before Jan 2026 when Jack was manager here because I know how important a reliable manager is to an apartment and how a good management team should look like. However I heard NOTHING about such huge change of the staff until I receive a weird email about visiting the leasing office ONLY BY APPOINTMENT!? Not for potential/future tenants but current tenants!? Then I looked up on the website and realized Jack is not working here anymore. As Y G mentioned, Jack used to say "my door is always open", even if on Mondays when the office is usually closed but he said I can still knock the door if I need help. What kind of building management team would accept tenant visit only by appointment??? I believe we deserve the transparency about changes like this and the right to visit the team member on duty anytime especially if there is an emergency."
"We recently moved out of this community and had a disappointing experience with our security deposit. After vacating, we received an email from AvalonBay's "Prior Resident" department, informing us that they withheld our security deposit and we were charged $315 for alleged damages and cleaning. Several of the listed items reflected conditions that existed prior to our move-in, and we provided dated photo documentation confirming this. The remaining cleaning disputes were supported by photos that showed walls and appliances in clean condition. Despite submitting documentation and formally disputing the charges under California security deposit standards, we were informed that no adjustments would be made. Residents should carefully document their move-in condition and be aware of how deposit deductions are handled. However, based on our experience, disputes may not be reconsidered even when documentation is provided. This experience deterred us from considering living at any other AvalonBay property."

Specifically I'd like to thank Jack the leasing office manager for his patience and upmost professionalism. I want to thank Havier and Matt from the maintenance team for their timely response and dedicated service to fix things that break in my apartment always; their superb technical skills and patient attention to details are all that you can ask for from exemplary professional workers. It is amazing how Jack is able to pull everyone and everything together seamlessly to serve two tall buildings of residence (mostly tech workers I assume) in the center of Silicon Valley. As someone who has been a manager myself before, I'd say Jack exemplifies the best qualities in leadership. Given all aforementioned (and more to praise for this community's management team), I 100% recommend Avalon Towers on the Peninsula and I hope anyone who is equally professional, amicable, considerate, and caring consider coming to join our community."
"I recently stayed at a corporate unit at Avalon Towers on the Peninsula and had an issue with the dishwasher on a Saturday. Unfortunately, the corporate team wasn’t much help in communicating with the property, but I was fortunate to run into Jose from the maintenance team. He was extremely helpful and fixed the dishwasher right away. I really appreciated how quickly he resolved the issue, as well as the helpful tips he shared about the appliances. On top of that, he even gave me some great dining recommendations in the area. His professionalism and kindness truly stood out and made my stay much better."
