"As the owner of an already successful business I took the plunge to open and online store nearly 3 years ago. From the start I was sold an idea that it would be the best thing I could do. I plugged thousands in to the initial start up of this Ecommerce store to which social link up delivered a very good looking site. Everything looked great, unfortunately as time went on the cracks began to surface, the only sales I was receiving was through authentic advertising done by myself. It was agreed that a basic SEO would be done on the site and I’d advised the team several times that if there was any confusion as to what my customers would be searching for then I would be the best person to ask given I understand my client market. There were also various errors with purchases, wrong pricing teething errors really but errors all the same for a company that is meant to be well established in ecommerce stores. After nearly 3 years and an average of around 1 sale per month! I decided enough was enough and brought another company in to transition the site over, from there social link up and its team weren’t the most helpful, after investigating this further and the new company looking in to the site it was then made clear and I was shown that although I had purchased the site how social link up had set it up it was made to look as if I didn’t actually own the website at all. From there the investigation only uncovered that there was also no SEO done whatsoever on the site, so any sales were completely authentic and through whatever advertising I’d done myself. Where I am not naive and didn’t expect them to be the sole reason for my businesses success I was sold a dream that the website itself would pull in sales and that was never possible without SEO and online search engine presence. This only confirmed that I had been taken advantage of in a situation where I was completely vulnerable, in the beginning when setting up this business I had put full faith in to social link up after explaining I was using my savings to set the site up during a period where I was expecting a new born baby. To say I’m completely devastated at the financial loss I incurred since going with this company is an understatement. Still to this day, myself and my company are struggling to regain access to my websites email address as social link up have locked us out. Very disappointed in all involved. My company is now driving regular traffic & sales conversions have been much more successful thanks to the new company I’m working with."
