"As a pervious manager . I have to be honest . They over work you , dont care about your health . Rate increases all the time and when you bring it up to the Dm all you get is if the tenant moves out then its a health moveout . While new tenants can rent for cheaper but the good tenants pay more how is that even right . The Dm that i had made you feel worthless and not vauled ever. She would make employees work in almost 100 degrees and not allow a lunch break. She breaks all rules and work conditions were horrible . This company is a joke rental increases, bad management , crappy pay for what they expect . Working for this company is signing your life away ."
"Ozark, AL Location Storage Scense Google Review On site manager Marla is great! In no way should this review affect her. She is always super sweet, helpful, and provides great customer service. This is for the company itself and for their regional manager Megan Franklin. I have rented one or more units from this company since before they took over the facility. I have had a unit at this location for over 4 years! The first issue I have with them is there was an incident where a renters children set off multiple fire extinguishers, once this happened we were told that few wouldn’t be able to access our units in this building until further notice. Two weeks went by with zero communication from the company and I needed to get some things out of my unit and to also downsize to a smaller unit because I bought a new home. Marla was gracious enough to make this happen. I asked at this time if there would be any compensation for not being able to get into our unit and was told the regional manager would make that call. I was unable to access my unit for approximately 17 days, and only then was able to because of Marla and moved everything out and into a smaller unit on the property. When all of this happened I was out of the country for work and called Marla and she gave me Megans number so I called her to see if I needed to get someone over to look at things and also talked to her about what had happened and I was told by Megan that a renters children had done it and I said something about it being it being a big bill for the renters to have all of that cleaned up and Megan stated that they were going to have to foot the bill or their insurance would because they would not be able to get anything out of these customers. Fast forward to me moving out and into a smaller unit. I was unable to finish so I left all of the trash (boxes and some things that needed to be donated) and my mother and sister went a few days later to remove these things and sweep the unit before the official move out date and my mother accidentally backed into one of the concrete poles and the corner of one of the buildings. She called me as soon as it happened and I told her to check in with Marla and let her know what happened. My mother then called me back to tell me that per Storage Scense policy that a police report needed to be filed. We were then told that we would either have to file for damages on her car insurance or pay out of pocket for the pole. We chose to pay out of pocket. This concrete pole was never installed correctly to begin with. There was no rebar in the pole. It was just a piece of pvc filled with concrete. It only caused a small dent on my mothers bumper. Been the police made a comment about it at the scene and even noted it in his police report. So we found a contractor to replace it and paid them directly at the cost of one thousand dollars. I have no decided to move the remainder of my things out of this facility and when I called to give them a move out date I asked Marla about the reimbursement for the time when the fire extinguisher incident happened and she said she would call the regional manager and get back with me. Again Marla did a great job and called me back the very next day, but was told that regional manager Megan said no credit would be issued! This is the reason that I am write this long review. This is 100% unacceptable from a company towards its clients. You prevented me as a renter from accessing my unit, I understand it was for safety but still was not able to get into my unit for half of the month that I paid rent for and To be told directly by regional management that they were not seeking reimbursement for their company from someone that intentionally damaged their facility and caused their customers not to be able to access something that they paid for but then to go after a customer for something that was 100% an accident is appalling! This company should be ashamed at the way that they treat their customers! Will never rent anything owned by this company again!"
"I hired SAM to manage our self storage facility last year. They projected revenue increases to win our business, but have significantly missed their own projections, and in fact are performing worse than previous years. I've also had administrative snafu's where they almost cancelled my insurance without my consent. I will wait and see, but as a business owner I cannot recommend SAM."
"A completely inept company at best. If you are a storage company and want to outsource your Storage Unit Management, this is not the company for you. As a tenant at a property management by SAM (Storage Asset Management), expect that your tenants will receive no service. This company couldn’t even update an expired credit card. What they can do is send Anonymous e-mails and provide a generic customer service number where no one can help you. You can also expect that they will not respond to any e-mails they receive, as an added bonus. Zero stars, and they should take “Management” out of there name because they do not know how to do that. Expect unhappy tenants, and your Vacancy rate to increase. Update to response from owner: Macoby Self Storage - you can see the 1 star review there as well."
"Recently I was sick with COVID and in order to receive care my family and I was forced to leave PA. I told the store manager and pleaded with him not to auction our things on April 20th of this month. He refused to help in anyway and stated he had the right to refuse any payment that did not cover our entire bill. I was only short $50 dollars until the 27th of April in cash and would not allow credit cards or checks payments only cash. I am a disabled veteran the 27th of April is when our pay disburses. He wouldn't give us until the end of the month but we were charged for the entire month in the invoice, thereafter I was even told our things were still at the storage after the the 20th and yet he still refused to allow me the customer our things but first he lied and stated our things had already been auctioned off. On the 25th I spoke with him and he stated he's holding our things as a manager's hold and that's only because the the first bidder didn't show. Please someone help. I have the entire amount but he's not willing to give us our things and according to Lockfox the manager called and cancelled the bidders transaction. How is this fair, he holding our unit for person gain allowing his people to buy the units at a fraction of the cost, and it's at his discretion. I begged him for a number to his boss several times even via email, he stated that no one has the authority to help. The manager at the Trindle location denies me any assistance until after auctioning our things. Please help if you can, I've left numerous calls to your office today. Its wasn't until I pretended to be a customer over the phone that the owner gave me someone I could speak with other than him."
