"Truly a great place to live. Super close to NYC with easy access to the train. Still incurable quiet and secluded. Great amenities. Staff is incredibly helpful and supportive. Moleek is truly the best! Tackles everything efficiently and effectively. My point person for everything."
"My 90+ year old father lives @ Alexan Harrison, and I stop by frequently for visits. The apartment is conveniently located next to both a Wegman's and a WestMed/Summit multispecialty physician office. Alexan Harrison's interior is immaculately curated, and even has its own self-serve, app-controlled coffee machine, and the coffee it brews is of excellent quality. Moleek is Alexan Harrison's Assistant Community Manager, and I cannot thank him enough for being so helpful to me and my Dad. Recently, Dad's washing machine broke and he waited a long time on a manufacturer's replacement part. I relayed my disappointment over the wait to Moleek, and he worked with the manufacturer to get a brand new washing machine installed for Dad! Moleek has also resolved a past login tech issue with the EquityResidential portal and been a fount of information about apartment resources and processes. The Alexan Harrison Service Manager, Michael, has also been very helpful. I was especially moved by the card that Michael, Moleek and other staff signed and presented to my family following my mother's passing. And it's always great to see Nancy at the front desk, who is extremely pleasant and efficient. Of course, no living space is without things they might consider improving upon in the future. In that spirit, more long-term visitor parking would be so appreciated!!"
"EDITED IN RESPONSE TO BUILDING REPLY: Thank you for bringing the issue to your attention? Noise from neighbors? What? Nothing in my review was about noise from neighbors. It’s about noise created by management’s failure to create and maintain a livable environment as it relates to noise. We have reached out to the office countless times about these issues for the entirety of our lease and you’ve done nothing to address them. ANYONE READING THIS - DO NOT LIVE HERE. This is a perfect example for you to see the gaslighting that management engages in when you raise any issues. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Do not live here. Worst renting experience I have ever had. Building management never takes accountability or does anything to make it right. In fact, they have lied on numerous occasions to shirk responsibility. Noise levels are extreme and ongoing - there’s always something, daily. Each video I posted was all taken within a single hour, windows fully closed. Impossible to work from home or even take phone calls from home, as you can see from the video taken inside my office. Multiply this times 24 to get an idea of your average day’s noise level."
"We worked with Nancy at the leasing office and it was truly a pleasure! She answered all of my questions and emails with such respect and detail. All of the relevant information needed to start a lease was professionally described and very organized. Moleek was also a great asset to us during this process! Would definitely recommend Alexan Harrison!"
"Many of the reviews here are from people who have not moved in. Yes Steven and Moleek and Cristina and the rest of the leasing team are great. No, I wouldn’t recommend living here. The people in the leasing office have little if any authority and are forced to give canned, deflective responses to most problems that are raised. You ultimately will be subject to the greedy and unreasonable practices of equity residential, the large real estate conglomerate that manages the property. We have lived here for 15 months and it has been the most tiring of my life due to the CONSTANT noise (am + pm) and lack of sleep it caused. Whether it’s fire alarms going off for 7 months straight for multiple hrs daily due to “testing” (yet when I called the fire department they said that was a boldfaced lie), construction crews sledgehammering cement at 4:50am outside your window (despite violating Harrison town rules), fire trucks with flashing lights and firemen pouring down the hall at 3am bc they don’t enforce the no smoking policy and thus people smoke cigarettes so heavily that it triggers the alarm, VERY loud and inconsiderate snow removal contractors who make ZERO effort to limit noise to only what’s necessary between 1-5am that the building fails to properly manage and control, 3+ hrs of banging and clanging trash truck noise 3 days every week, 20+ times per day loud back up alarms from the shuttle, school bus, delivery trucks, moving trucks, etc because they didn’t build enough space for trucks to turn around near the street, and just constant noise by maintenance crews bc they placed the maintenance garage in the middle of many apartments. Beyond the extensive noise issues, there is a serious lack of security as anyone can enter the garage + building at any time without a key. We also had a very disruptive leak where they had to come in and out of our apartment over several weeks, cut through the wall making a huge mess between the drywall dust and wearing their boots in/out, and then they never even fully repaired the wall and we still have dried putty all over the floor. You also get to smell the gross smell of cigarettes pouring through the vents into your apartment and hall bc again they don’t enforce rules. There’s ongoing problems with poor property maintenance - there was trash in the trees for 10+ months, and they made the entire back lawn a junk yard for 7 months during winter rather than building a maintenance shed for their equipment. Windows are filthy and they’ve never once cleaned. Port-a-potties outside our window to stare at for going on 15 months now. You also get to pay for gas based on your sq footage rather than your usage bc they did not put meters in for each apartment - so you’re SOL if you prefer to pay for what you use - instead you get to pay for what everyone else uses! There’s been ongoing changes to misc charges like trash that never come with explanations that make any sense. I’m out of space to go on (parking is a disaster, dog poop is often not picked up, + more), so these are just some of the examples of what it’s like to live here. We are generally very patient, but our experience here was so beyond the bounds of reasonable that this review is warranted. We communicated these issues many times, but in most cases were brushed off and told “sorry.” Eventually they offered to move units but there weren’t comparable floor plans available, not to mention the significant cost of moving… And good luck with your lease renewal…our renewal offer was a 26% increase…ridiculous stand-alone but esp so after the experience we have had. Not to mention they lie about the decision deadline to trap you into negotiating against a false deadline, then give you a 24 hr exploding offer (that was still an absurd 12%+ increase) to respond. As a result, we are trapped here again bc I have surgery in 3 days and don’t yet know if I will be physically able to manage a move. Told them that also and they don’t care to provide any extended flexibility with their fake deadlines and exploding offers. Look elsewhere."
