"During my four years at UNIC, I served continuously as a student representative while maintaining a GPA of 3.2 and never failing a single course. I was actively engaged in the university community and committed to both my academic and representative responsibilities. Given this consistent record and contribution, my overall experience is particularly disappointing. Throughout my studies, I became increasingly concerned about the leadership culture within the department, particularly under the Head of Department. The Head of Department’s management approach often appeared dismissive of differing viewpoints and lacking in transparency. Rather than fostering an environment of open dialogue, meritocracy, and academic integrity, the atmosphere frequently felt influenced by internal politics. Key decisions—including staff resignations, dismissals, and promotions—seemed to occur without clear communication regarding the criteria or rationale behind them. This absence of transparency weakens institutional trust and raises concerns about governance and fairness. Similar concerns apply to the Master’s programs (Clinical and Counselling), especially regarding selection procedures. The lack of clearly defined and openly communicated evaluation criteria makes it difficult for applicants to understand how decisions are made and whether they are based purely on merit. Being rejected from the program despite my consistent academic performance and four years of service as a student representative was disappointing and difficult to reconcile. Although this outcome ultimately redirected me toward focusing on my business career—where I have since achieved significant professional growth—it does not diminish the broader concerns regarding transparency, leadership accountability, and merit-based decision-making within the department. I hope the university reflects on these issues and takes meaningful steps toward fostering a culture of fairness, openness, and ethical leadership for future students."
"Just visited the institution. It’s great architecture all around… I see signs there is still more developments in the pipeline!"
"I studied at the University of Nicosia and recently contacted them to request a re-issuance of my diploma, as I had lost the original. Unfortunately, my experience with their communication was extremely disappointing. They repeatedly failed to respond to my emails, and I had to constantly follow up myself, wasting valuable time. In addition, when a colleague of mine went to collect the diploma on my behalf, Ms. Katia Andreou who is dealing with these matters made negative comments about me, despite not knowing me personally. This kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable, especially from a university that I had always considered to be highly professional. Overall, the lack of communication and the unprofessional attitude I encountered were very disheartening. I truly expected better from an institution of this level."
"We have been taking a 2 day class, as a 15 people group from Greece, in getting to know ways to boost tourism in our area and the involved persons did an excellent job!"
"Can say that this is the best university in Cyprus."
