"🟧 Cross Street Exchange 18 Cross Street, Singapore 048423 ● This is a recently revamped office building complex integrated with retail shops and eateries on the lower floors. 🟩 Origins & History of the Building *************************************** 🟩 Originally named "China Square Central", the building was completed in mid‑2002. ▪︎Back then, it featured a 15-storey office tower integrated with rows of refurbished traditional shophouses converted into offices, retail, and dining spaces. The extensive revamps ************************** 🔴 ➡️ In 2019, a significant SGD38 million refurbishment was carried out to rejuvenate the retail podium. ✅️ Following the massive and extensive upgrade, the complex was rebranded in 2020 as "Cross Street Exchange" (CSE). ***************************************** 🟦 The current tenants of "Cross Street Exchange" mall are = a mix of cafes, restaurants, fitness centres, wellness providers, convenience stores, and office support services. 🔵 Photos were taken over a period of time recently ( over several visits). ⚫️ The most recent tenants from what I observe are =⚫️ Audi House of Progress ( basically a car showroom) + Burnt Ends bakery cafe, The Test Kitchen, Chagee, % Arabica, Yuan cafe, Morning Grind, Super Green. 🟡 JustCo = is the 2nd level co-working office facility. It looks like the open concept type. 🟩 I also spotted a 7-11 konbini situated next to the car/ taxi drop-off point entrance. This is a tiny 7-11 convenience store that stocks the usual instant noodles and snacks stuff. ************************************ 🔴 Nearby districts ------------------------- ➡️ Across from Cross Street Exchange, is the vibrant Club Street area. ✳️➡️ Adjacent to Cross Street Exchange mall is the retro Hong Lim Complex. 🟧 Actually, I would say that Cross Street Exchange mall sits at the edge of Chinatown. ● It is still sited within the borders of the Central Business District ( financial district), but once you cross over to South Bridge Road area= ✔️ You are already in Chinatown. ➡️ Nearest MRT train stations ******************************* 🔵 Telok Ayer MRT station = the nearest 🟣 Chinatown station = 2nd nearest 🔴 Raffles Place = 15 to 20 min walk"
"Nice pitstop before going to the mrt. If you're staying at the Capri, this can be a nice shortcut to the mrt while getting some snacks."
"There are currently not much shops open, with just a Audi showroom, and then Chagee, Morning Grind, Yuan and a Supergreen which is on basement with two other gyms. The environment has been improved lots, which make it more lively, but it's more of an office building and not really a mall, especially since the Audi showroom is taking up so much space that could have been used for f&b instead. Level two has JustCo, which is a working space, making it quite convenient to go a level down for food. Toilets are generally clean, with many many stalls. However, it can be quite empty, because there aren't really many shops."
"There a open streets where there many restaurants for the office crowds. Beautiful glass roofs where nature light shine into the area. Nice for some pictures."
"This is great place for family and individuals to spend the lazy Sunday afternoon soaking up the atmosphere at the flea market. Lots of vintage stuff antiques knick knacks toys whimsical stuff that will bring a smile on your face. Most stalls began setting up around 10 am and packs up around 4 pm. There's great food too from coffee to noodles to freshly made pizzas. I will post more pics in the future but usually ended up busy shopping."
