"Our experience with Williams Commerce did long-term damage to our business. At the start, everything felt promising. The sales process was confident, the design discussions were polished, and we believed we were partnering with experts who understood ecommerce performance ensuring us at every step that they specialized in data. What followed was devastating. During the site redesign, our accumulated SEO value — built over years of hard work and investment — was effectively wiped out. Organic visibility collapsed. Revenue dropped sharply. The financial impact was immediate and severe, and years later we have still not recovered to where we were before the rebuild. There was no meaningful SEO migration protection. No clear preservation strategy. No ownership of the commercial consequences. The foundations that actually drive ecommerce success — data integrity, search visibility, technical resilience — were not safeguarded. The technical exposure only became apparent later. When we moved hosting to Adobe, we uncovered undocumented integrations and hidden dependencies that had never been disclosed. When a server (which we were never informed was critical) was eventually switched off, our site broke. That moment made it painfully clear how exposed we had been left. We were put in a position where: • Years of SEO equity were lost. • Revenue declined significantly. • Technical debt accumulated. • We spent years unpicking decisions we never should have had to deal with. The design process consumed time and budget, while the data and performance fundamentals — the things that actually keep a business alive — did not receive the same protection or priority. If you need a standard, templated ecommerce solution, you may have a different experience. But if your business depends on SEO, complex data, technical transparency, and long-term scalability, you need to ask very hard questions before committing. We trusted them with a critical revenue channel. That trust came at a very high cost."
