"[Greater Bay Area Local Chronicles - Asking for Directions in Shenzhen] After getting off the Didi, I was surrounded by buildings, none of them marked with addresses. I tried entering one using Gaode Maps, but something felt off. I called a bespectacled girl who had just jumped out of an elevator: "Excuse me, is this Building 2, Block 9A?" "No… you should turn left and walk straight." Thanked her and walked a bit, but something still didn't feel right. I remembered the bespectacled girl's hesitant answer; she probably didn't know the area well… I went to ask the security guard. "Excuse me, is this Building 2, Block 9A?" "It's easy to find, it's right next to Building 3." "😳" "🙂" "Then how do I get to Building 3?" "Turn right and walk straight, you'll see it~" Thank you. As we walked, we saw a small sign that said "Block 9A, Central Area." We cleverly realized that "Central Area" might be the Chinese translation of "Building 2." Just to be safe, we asked the security guard again. "Excuse me, is this Building 2, Block 9A?" "Which floor are you going to?" "Is this Building 2, Block 9A?" "Which floor are you going to?" "Is this Building 2?" "Which floor are you going to?" "16th floor." "The elevator for the 16th floor of Building 2 is this side~" What kind of cultural level is this? I'm so confused 😵 #Turns out, each building only has its building number displayed facing the street #Nothing is displayed facing the inner street #What kind of signage is this? #I'm so confused 😵"
"I visited this place in 2018 for a conference related to a company client. The entire technology park is located next to the Dasha River, often referred to as Shenzhen's Seine. From its vantage points, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Dasha River and even the entire Shenzhen Bay. The park is very large, and the architectural design is quite avant-garde and trendy; the combination of steel and glass looks surprisingly light and futuristic. The only drawback is the inconvenient transportation; the nearest subway station is quite a walk away, and many areas are still empty and lack tenants. I had been here in 2018 to join a conference related to clients I work for. The whole tech park is located by the Dashahe River, which was said to be "the Seine River of Shenzhen" :lol. The park is really large, with highly modern and fashionable architectural designs. I have never seen the combination of steel and glass can be so light and so flexible. The major drawback is the inconvenient traffic there, a long long way to the nearest metro station. Also many buildings haven't been occupied by companies or merchants, which seems to be totally empty."
"[December 2017] Shenzhen Bay Science and Technology Ecological Park is a recently completed commercial office building, which has gradually attracted technology companies, banks, restaurants, cafes, fitness centers, barber shops and other service industries to move in."
