"I purchased a lot in the Powder Horn Golf Community in the Fall of 2021with the intentions of building a house starting in the Spring of 2022. I contracted a local architectural firm to design a home with about 2700 sqft with living space and a master suite on the bottom floor and two bedrooms and baths on the second floor for guests. I wanted the home to be comfortable throughout the year and to take full advantage of the views of the Big Horn Mountains. I was not interested in a completely custom home, but a high quality home with some custom features. The preliminary design work was completed in January of 2022, that allowed me to begin looking for a building contractor to begin construction in the Spring of 2022. I interviewed seven local building contractors', from the very large firms that were building only large completely custom homes to the very small contractors that were only building one or two homes a year. One of the contractors that I spoke with was Devin Daugaard, with Daugaard Construction, LLC. In February 2022, when I discussed my project with Daugaard Construction they were finishing three homes in the Powder Horn that were very similar in size and design as the home I wanted to build. I discussed with Daugaard Construction my home design, the budget that I was was working in and the time schedule I was hoping to meet. After meeting with Daugaard Construction and Devin I was confident we could work together on the project and have a home that I would be happy with. I liked that he was building homes similar in size, price range and design to what I wanted to build. I spoke to the future home owners and they were very pleased with the work that Daugaard Construction had done and was doing for them. I contracted Daugaard Construction to build my home starting in the Spring of 2022. In May of 2022 we broke ground and started my construction project. Construction proceeded on schedule and we finished the home in December 2022. I stayed in Sheridan throughout the construction process and would see the progress being made on a daily bases. We would meet weekly, on Friday mornings, and discuss the progress that had been made that week and what the plans were for the upcoming week. We would review and approve invoices and track with the budget. I have been in my home now for 9 months and very pleased with the results. Daugaard Construction did and outstanding job on the execution of the project, they were there overseeing the daily progress and making any changes necessary. Devin does an amazing job order materials in a timely manner and monitoring the payments and the budget for the project. Daugaard Construction built my home within the budget and time frame originally agreed on. I would use Daugaard Construction on any future building project. Steve McLean"
